CHECK WIRING BETWEEN ANTENNA AND ACU. The main antenna processor is not responding to ACU
commands. This error will also occur if the V11 loses AC power.
Troubleshooting for V3 and V7:
Step 1:
Reboot the system.
Power off the ICM at the front panel, wait two minutes, then turn it back on.
Step 2:
Check the wiring at the ICM.
Make sure the wires of the antenna power/data cable are connected properly to the terminal strip connector and the terminal strip connector is plugged fully into the “To Antenna” connector on the rear panel of the ICM. Verify proper connections of all wires and cables at the ICM according to the Wiring Diagram in the TracPhone system’s Help and Installation Guide.
Step 3:
Capture antenna system log files.
Capture a new Operational Log data file and an Event Log data file for KVH diagnostics. See the System Logs topic in the TracPhone system’s Help for details. To ensure the Operational Log includes the antenna’s startup messages and self-test results, select Restart System, Start New Log and capture at least 10 minutes of data.
Step 4:
Check for voltages across pins 4&5, 6&7, 9&10, and 11 & 12. If you are getting voltages across 4&5, 9&10. The ACU is sending out data. If you are getting voltages on 6&7 and 11&12 the ACU is receiving data. Note: these voltages are anywhere from .5 to 1.5 volts. If not voltage on any of the above pins this could be a bad I2CM.
Step 5:
Check voltage on pins 13 and 14 at the base of the antenna for 42 volts. If no volts we will need to replace the power data cable.
Step 6:
Check the molex connector on the main board with the red and white wire. Voltage should be 42 volts. If no voltage most likely the cable wrap.
Step 7:
If voltage is present to the main board, can the antenna move on bootup? Can you move the antenna by hand with power applied? This will most likely be main board.
